Great advice about starting as a buyer. I see so many people setting up businesses and not looking at it from the buyers perspective and ultimately failing.
This is a great post. In addition to your advice to begin as a buyer (before you move onto selling), I think it’s really important that potential sellers also learn a little bit about how to write effective titles (i.e. using Google’s AdWords tool to make sure they’re using keywords people actually search for). I believe that’s one of the keys to driving more traffic to your Ebay listings and very few people do it.

eBay has huge amounts of traffic going to its web site everyday inturn you can make sales within a couple of days. And another thing, it is a popular company and has eveything inplace to carry out safe online trading. E-bay is a really good source of money.
eBay is great for starting a home business. I owned an ebay business a few years ago and found that the best selling items were designer fashion items. I would go to outlets, buy designer items and resell them on ebay with a buy now price. A while ago, I decided to try selling downloadable products online, so now I have a totally automated business, which works out better for me since I don’t particularly enjoy the process of shipping out physical goods.
I think very few people actually make enough selling on ebay to have that be their sole income. Selling a few items on ebay is a great way to promote your off of ebay business though. Its great marketing.
EBay has so much market research information on tap that you could get by simply by using eBay alone to investigate your market.
